About

I am an artist based on Mer (Murray) Island in Australia's Torres Strait. Mer is arguably the most remote island in Australia and the Meriam people have an extremely sacred and unique culture. It is a world of unexpected wonders and freaks of nature, a tropical paradise with untapped sea life and reef.

I have a Diploma in Photo Imaging and am currently studying a double degree, Bachelor of Fine Art and Visual Culture at Curtin University, majoring in painting and photography. My passion is abstraction and movement in photography. I feel the still image conveys a static moment in history, which is fantastic! However it is clear that life never stands still and nature is constantly transforming. Thus to capture the true essence of life it must not be static.

Many of my works have been included in exhibitions and competitions across the country. I will be holding my first solo exhibition in 2014, which will focus on wind, more specifically the winds of Mer Island and their cultural significance.
